Terms of Service
Your agreement with TurnitPass: accounts, AI-assisted writing, the Pass Guarantee, content rights, subscriptions, acceptable use and service responsibilities.
Effective / last updated
These Terms form an agreement between you and BunnyLabs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company and the operator of TurnitPass ("BunnyLabs", "we", "us" or "our"), covering the website, writing tools and API (the Service). By creating an account, accepting these Terms or using the Service, you agree to them. Our Refund Policy, including the TurnitPass Pass Guarantee, and our Privacy Policy are incorporated into this agreement. Please do not use the Service if you do not accept these Terms.
You must be at least 16 and meet any higher minimum age required where you live. If you are below the age of legal majority, you must have permission from a parent or guardian able to accept these Terms. If you act for an organization, you confirm that you can bind it to this agreement.
PLEASE REVIEW THE DISPUTE-RESOLUTION SECTION: it provides for individual arbitration and a class-action waiver where enforceable, with a 30-day opt-out and specified exceptions.
TurnitPass provides AI-assisted rewriting, humanization, paraphrasing, text-detection signals, citation and bibliography tools, browser history and API access. Features can use third-party models, detection services and publication-metadata sources. The Service assists your work and performs the writing functions described on our pages.
Features, supported models, formats and availability can change as we improve the Service. We may impose reasonable technical or usage limits to maintain security, reliability and fair use across accounts. Where applicable law gives you a remedy for a material reduction to a service you have already paid for, that remedy remains available to you.
Provide accurate account information and keep access to your Google account, sessions and API keys secure. Do not sell accounts, share credentials to evade plan limits, impersonate another person or give unauthorized parties access. Tell support promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
You are responsible for activity you authorize on your account and for taking reasonable precautions to protect your access. We may suspend or terminate access under the suspension and termination section below.
Use the Service only for lawful purposes and content you are authorized to process. Do not submit unlawful material, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, impersonate others, facilitate fraud, distribute malware, or use the Service to harass or exploit people.
Do not bypass authentication, billing, rate limits or other safeguards; create multiple accounts to evade free-use restrictions; scrape or extract the Service at scale without permission; reverse engineer it except as permitted by law; or disrupt infrastructure. Access automation through the supported API and within its documented limits.
Do not resell raw access, sublicense accounts, offer a white-label version, or extract outputs systematically to reproduce the Service or train a competing model without our written permission. This does not restrict ordinary authorized use of your own outputs.
You decide how to use, publish and submit outputs, and you remain responsible for them. Check facts, sources, citations, quotations, permissions and the accuracy of any rewrite before relying on it. A rewrite can change meaning; generated references or metadata can be incomplete or incorrect.
You are responsible for meeting the AI-use, authorship, disclosure and academic-integrity rules that apply to you, whether they come from your institution, employer, publisher or platform. You remain responsible for your final submission and for any disclosure your rules require.
AI outputs can be inaccurate, non-unique, biased or unsuitable for your intended use. Detection scores are probabilistic signals and can produce false positives and false negatives. They are not proof of misconduct or authorship, and should not be the sole basis for a consequential decision about another person.
Descriptions such as "humanize", "reduce AI traces" or "more natural" name the writing function a tool performs. Our commitments about detector outcomes are set out in the Pass Guarantee below, and that Guarantee is the exclusive promise we make about detector results. Outside the Pass Guarantee, we do not promise a specific score, grade, publication, ranking or acceptance by any third party. Illustrations and examples are not performance guarantees.
We stand behind the rewriting tools with the TurnitPass Pass Guarantee. If Turnitin's AI detector flags a rewrite that TurnitPass delivered to you, we will re-run that text at no charge, as many times as reasonably needed, until the delivered rewrite is no longer flagged. If the text cannot be cleared after good-faith re-runs, we will restore the word credits that the original rewrite consumed.
The Guarantee is available for rewrites produced by TurnitPass under an active paid plan or a valid writing allowance. It applies where all of the following are met: (a) you ask us to re-run the text exactly as TurnitPass delivered it, without later edits, additions, reformatting or mixing with content from another source; (b) you provide the Turnitin report showing the AI score together with its document identifier and date; (c) you contact support within 30 days of the delivery you are asking us to re-run; and (d) the flagged text was produced by TurnitPass, and not by another tool or model.
Re-runs use the same text and language with the tools and modes available at the time of the request. Detector behaviour varies with the text and language, and detectors update their own models, so the Guarantee is a commitment to keep re-running your text at no charge and to restore consumed credits if we cannot clear it. It is not a promise that a score, grade, admission, publication or other third-party decision will reach a particular value.
The Guarantee does not apply to text you altered after delivery, to flags caused by content you added or retained from other sources, to accounts suspended for breaching these Terms, or to requests that are fraudulent, duplicated, automated or submitted in bad faith. We may pause a claim while we investigate suspected abuse, and we may decline a claim that does not meet the conditions above. Re-runs do not consume your word allowance and do not require a new purchase.
This Guarantee is in addition to, and does not replace, any non-waivable rights you have under applicable law or the remedies described in our Refund Policy.
Before purchase, review the checkout price, currency, billing interval, included words, per-request limits and applicable taxes. The order details shown when you purchase govern that purchase. Stripe processes payments; your bank or payment provider may apply conversion or other charges.
Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically for the selected billing interval until cancelled. Monthly and annual subscriptions are recurring plans. Annual subscriptions are charged for the full year in advance; the displayed monthly equivalent is not a monthly installment charge. Writing allowances refresh on each monthly anniversary in either billing cycle, do not roll over, and end with paid subscription access. A discount applies only as stated in the offer.
Cancel future renewals through the billing portal linked from your account. If you cannot access it, contact support@turnitpass.com promptly before the renewal date for assistance. Cancellation normally leaves paid access available until the end of the paid period and does not itself refund a previous charge. Deleting browser data, signing out or not using the Service does not cancel a subscription.
We will give notice of material recurring-price changes before they apply, and obtain consent where required. Plan changes, prorations and any new charge are subject to the confirmation shown when you make the change.
Word allowances are service entitlements, not money or stored value. They cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. Allowances, reset periods and API access depend on the purchased plan. Do not assume that unused words roll over unless the offer expressly states this. Repeating a successful processing request uses additional writing credits. One English word or one CJK character counts as one credit; whitespace and punctuation are not charged. For unbroken tokens longer than 32 letters or digits, the first 32 count as one credit; only the excess adds one credit per three letters or digits, rounded up. Changing the selected language does not change metering. Purchased writing top-ups do not expire or auto-renew and are consumed after included writing credits, subject to account closure and these Terms. AI detection has a separate daily scan allowance that refreshes at 00:00 UTC, does not roll over, and does not spend writing or top-up credits. All plans follow the same per-request processing limits. A signup writing grant is one-time per account; repeated sign-ins do not create new grants. Creating accounts to bypass limits is prohibited.
Our Refund Policy explains cancellation, non-refundable usage, billing errors, undelivered access, the Pass Guarantee and any statutory rights. Contact support with a request identifier or transaction reference if usage or billing appears incorrect.
As between you and us, you retain rights you hold in submitted text, documents and other inputs. Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, we do not claim ownership of your generated outputs. AI generation does not ensure that copyright exists in an output or that it is unique.
You grant us a non-exclusive license to receive, store, reproduce, transmit and transform your content as needed to provide the requested features, keep service records, secure and troubleshoot the Service, handle support, enforce these Terms and comply with law, as described in the Privacy Policy. This is not a transfer of ownership or permission to publish your drafts as marketing material.
You confirm that you have the permissions and lawful basis needed for any content or personal information you submit, including material belonging to others.
The software, interface, branding, documentation and other Service materials are owned by us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purposes during your authorized access.
You may not copy, redistribute or exploit our branding, code or Service materials beyond that permission or applicable law. If you voluntarily provide product feedback, you permit us to use it without an obligation to compensate you; this does not transfer rights in your drafts.
Browser history is a convenience feature, not a backup service. Records are stored on the browser and device where they were created and are not synchronized by this feature across devices. Storage limits, clearing site data, private browsing or device loss can remove records. Export important work before clearing data or changing devices.
Third-party sign-in, payment, AI and source-information services may have their own terms and availability limits. We remain responsible for our obligations to you. Independent third-party websites and services you choose to use operate under their own terms, and their availability is outside our control.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AND EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS PASS GUARANTEE SET OUT ABOVE, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise error-free, uninterrupted or completely secure operation, or that every output will meet your expectations.
Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies for a service not supplied as agreed, or other rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, business opportunities, reputation, academic standing or data, arising from use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Where the Pass Guarantee applies, the re-runs and credit restoration it provides are the remedy for that claim.
These limits do not exclude or restrict liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or restrict.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless BunnyLabs and its officers, personnel and service providers against third-party claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from content you submit, your infringement of rights, unlawful use, unauthorized resale or material breach of these Terms. This does not extend to liability caused by our own breach, negligence or misconduct, or impose obligations prohibited by mandatory consumer law.
We will give reasonably prompt notice of such a claim and an opportunity to assist with the defense. You may not agree to a settlement imposing liability or an admission on us without our consent, which will not be unreasonably withheld.
We may restrict or suspend access for material breaches, fraud, security incidents, unpaid charges, abuse of the Pass Guarantee or other safeguards, or legal requirements. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue; urgent action may be necessary to protect the Service or others.
You can stop using the Service, cancel renewal and request account deletion through support. Suspension or closure does not eliminate valid outstanding charges, refund rights or applicable data-retention duties. If we discontinue a paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, we will provide any refund or other remedy required for undelivered service. Provisions intended to survive, including ownership, valid payment obligations and liability limits, continue to apply.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act where applicable. Mandatory protections afforded to consumers by the law of their country of residence are not displaced.
Before commencing arbitration, the party bringing a dispute will notify the other in writing and allow 30 days for good-faith informal resolution. Send notices to support@turnitpass.com with your name, account email, the relevant facts and requested resolution; we may send notices to your account email. This process does not prevent urgent relief or timely exercise of non-waivable statutory rights.
Except for the exceptions below and to the extent enforceable, you and BunnyLabs agree to final and binding individual arbitration before one arbitrator administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA), using its Consumer Arbitration Rules for consumer disputes and its applicable commercial rules otherwise. Rules and filing information are available at adr.org. Consumer fees, hearing arrangements and allocation of costs follow the applicable AAA rules and mandatory law; this clause does not require a consumer to travel to Wyoming contrary to those rules. Hearings may be remote or in an appropriate location under the applicable rules.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND BUNNYLABS EACH WAIVE A JURY TRIAL FOR DISPUTES SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION AND AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A CLASS REPRESENTATIVE OR CLASS MEMBER. The arbitrator may award individual relief available under applicable law, but may not conduct a class arbitration without both parties' written agreement. This does not waive relief that applicable law makes non-waivable.
Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small-claims court. Either party may seek urgent court relief to protect intellectual property or confidential information. If AAA declines to administer a dispute and the parties cannot agree on a suitable alternative, either may proceed in a court with competent jurisdiction.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@turnitpass.com within 30 days after first accepting it, giving your name, account email and a clear statement that you opt out. Opting out does not affect your access to the Service; this arbitration agreement and its class-action waiver will not apply to you. A court decides the formation and enforceability of this arbitration agreement and any class-action waiver.
For disputes not subject to arbitration, the parties submit to the state or federal courts in Wyoming, except for eligible small-claims proceedings and any different forum required by mandatory law. If a provision of this section cannot be enforced, it is severed to the extent necessary; no class arbitration is created by severance. This arbitration provision applies prospectively upon acceptance and does not retroactively govern a dispute already notified before that acceptance.
We may revise these Terms and will update the effective date. For material changes affecting existing users, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another appropriate channel and obtain fresh consent where required. Changes do not retroactively remove rights relating to earlier purchases.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. These Terms and any expressly agreed order terms constitute the agreement for the Service; mandatory law takes precedence. The English document is the maintained version; translations, if provided, assist understanding without limiting rights under local law.
For account, legal, copyright or billing concerns, email support@turnitpass.com. For copyright complaints, identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing material, your authority to act, and contact details so we can investigate.
You may not assign your account or this agreement without our written consent. We may assign the agreement in connection with a merger, reorganization or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law and without reducing existing statutory rights. No partnership, agency or employment relationship is created. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, except for payment obligations and duties that applicable law does not excuse.
